Divorce Matters – Who Am I?

Debbie Shawn M.S.W, R.S.W, founder of Divorce Matters, is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers.She has a Masters of Social Work degree from Wilfred Laurier University and a Bachelor of Social Work degree from McMaster University. As well, Debbie managed a family business for many years, gaining expertise in financial management.

With over 30 years of professional experience, Debbie then founded Divorce Matters – Preparing for an Organized Divorce.  Debbie understands that Separation and Divorce can impact every area of your life, often leaving you feeling overwhelmed. Through Divorce Matters, Debbie has developed checklists and information modules to help you organize your divorce paperwork and financial affairs to ensure that you have the best opportunity to present your information accurately and achieve the results you want.

Individual Consultation in person, or on Skype to review information required for financial disclosure and how to best locate,organize, and fill out the required Financial Statements.
Two Hour time block including Checklist – What Information Do I Need and Information Module – Financial Information – What You Need and How to Find it.

$250 + HST

Checklists and Summary Sheets – A complete package including 5 Separation and Divorce Checklists, 5 Separation and Divorce Summary Sheets and 7 Separation and Divorce Information Modules.  Full descriptions available on www.divorcematters.ca

My Basic Services

Individual Consultation: Successfully navigating Separation and Divorce is ultimately about your children and your money – negotiating these issues requires a lot of paperwork. Debbie Shawn, founder of Divorce Matters, is available to meet with you, and guide you through the process of preparing for an organized divorce. Personalized organizational systems, checklists and modules can also be designed to meet your individual needs.  Organizing your paperwork and your financial affairs will ensure that you have the best opportunity to protect your future.

$125.00 + HST per hour

Clients who have extended health benefits for Social Work services may be able to be reimbursed for Divorce Matters services. Check with your provider to see if you have coverage for Social Work services.
